Job summary

Dovetail and Slate in the North West is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to deliver practical and theory-based mechanical engineering programmes to learners at various levels. The role allows a transition from industry to education with full teacher training and ongoing support.

You will teach hands-on workshops and classroom sessions, planning schemes of work, assessing progress, and providing constructive feedback to help learners build career-ready skills.

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Solid industry experience within a mechanical engineering environment.
• A passion for teaching and developing learners.

Are you an experienced mechanical engineer looking to pass your skills on to the next generation, or an established lecturer ready for a new challenge?

About the Role

You'll join a training provider in the North West, delivering mechanical engineering programmes to learners at various levels, combining hands-on workshop sessions with classroom-based theory. If you haven't taught before, that's not a barrier: full teacher training and ongoing support are available to help you make the move from industry into education.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging and practical lessons in mechanical engineering.
• Planning and preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
• Assessing learner progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
• Supporting learners to develop the skills and confidence needed for careers in the sector.

What We're Looking For

Essential:
