Stantec is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Newcastle to help deliver mechanical designs for water and wastewater facilities. You will work with a multidisciplinary team and develop your technical capabilities while progressing toward Chartered Engineer status.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Mechanical Engineer , you'll support the delivery of mechanical engineering design across a diverse portfolio of water infrastructure projects while continuing to develop your technical knowledge and professional experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing mechanical engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations and associated infrastructure.
• Preparing technical calculations, equipment schedules, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Supporting feasibility studies, optioneering and detailed design activities.
• Working collaboratively with Project Managers, multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
• Assisting with technical reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.Continuing your professional development with the support of experienced engineers and mentors.

ABOUT YOU

Essential

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering or supporting mechanical engineering design projects.
• An understanding of mechanical systems associated with water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, or experience from a similar process industry.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive approach to learning and professional development.

Desirable

• Experience within the UK water sector.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
• Experience producing engineering calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
• Experience working with contractors or supporting project delivery.
