Job summary

Guidant, Carbon60, Lorien & SRG on behalf of client seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer in Stevenage. The role is a 6-month contract, on-site four days weekly, with an hourly rate up to £55 Inside IR35.

You will work in a multidisciplinary engineering team across concepts, detailed design, testing and manufacturing support. You will produce Creo-based 3D CAD models and drawings, perform tolerance analysis and contribute to design reviews while liaising with suppliers to resolve technical queries

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design for components and assemblies.
• Proficient in producing engineering drawings and documentation.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and manage design concepts.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Stevenage | 4 Days Onsite | 6-Month Contract | Up to £55 per Hour (Inside IR35)

A leading engineering and technology organisation is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its highly skilled engineering team on an initial 6-month contract basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically complex products, supporting the design, development and delivery of cutting-edge engineering solutions. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will be involved in the full product lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to testing, manufacturing support and product validation.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D CAD models, detailed drawings and technical documentation using Creo.
• Carry out mechanical design activities for components and assemblies.
• Support manufacturing teams in resolving design and production issues.
• Contribute to design reviews and engineering assessments.
• Support environmental, functional and qualification testing activities.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical queries.
• Perform tolerance analysis, material selection and design calculations where required.
• Ensure designs meet performance, quality and manufacturing requirements.

Essential Experience

• Strong experience using Creo (PTC Creo) for mechanical design.
• Background in the design of mechanical components and assemblies.
• Experience producing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
