Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer

• Bristol (2 or 3 days on site per week)

As a Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer in our 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T) business, you will play an important role in delivering a variety of projects, from niche consultancy to large, high-profile programs. Your contribution will help safeguard our nation.

Your purpose:

• Support or lead the creation of optimal design solutions to meet client requirements.
• Produce substantiation calculations to demonstrate design performance.
• Author and update technical documents.
• Manage project delivery in terms of Time, Cost, and Quality.
• Support QA processes through reviews and checking colleagues’ work.
• Present work to clients during formal reviews.
• Work within project teams, including placements at clients’ sites.

What you can bring:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Chartership with a relevant engineering institution or progress towards it.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application.
• Experience across the design lifecycle, including requirements capture, concept generation, development, and down-selection.
• Familiarity with design codes and industry standards for safety-critical industries.
• Experience in producing design documentation, calculations, reports, and specifications, including computer-aided design.
• Experience presenting at formal design reviews.
• Experience working in teams on mechanical engineering projects, especially in nuclear or safety-critical industries.
