Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer

• Birmingham (2 or 3 days on site p/week)

As a Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer in our 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T) business, you will play a key role in delivering a variety of projects, from niche consultancy to large, high-profile programmes. Your contribution will impact national security.

Your responsibilities include:

• Supporting or leading the creation of design solutions to meet client needs.
• Producing calculations to validate designs.
• Authoring and updating technical documents.
• Managing project delivery within time, cost, and quality constraints.
• Participating in QA reviews and checks.
• Presenting work to clients during formal reviews.
• Working within project teams, including placements at client sites.

Qualifications and experience:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Chartership with a relevant engineering institution or progressing towards it.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Experience in design lifecycle, including requirements capture and concept development.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards for safety-critical industries.
• Experience in producing design documentation and using CAD software.
• Experience in formal design reviews and team collaboration.
• Experience in safety-critical industries like nuclear is preferred.
