Job summary

Assystem is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer focused on pressure compliance in Bristol. This hybrid role requires commutable distance to Bristol, with relocation support where appropriate.

You will manage pressure systems compliance, assess structural integrity, apply RCC-M/ASME standards, and collaborate with regulators, designers and suppliers to uphold safety and quality across projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience with pressure systems manufacture, installation or structural integrity.
  • Experience within nuclear, power generation, oil and gas environments.
  • Knowledge of RCC-M or ASME pressure equipment design requirements.
  • Understanding of pressure systems compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management across multidisciplinary and matrix organisations.
  • Experience working with regulators, suppliers and engineering organisations.
  • Strong technical judgement and ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong influencing capability.
  • Chartered Engineer status or progress towards professional registration advantageous.

  • Ensure regulatory and structural integrity requirements are properly implemented.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, regulators and supply chain partners.
  • Review pressure equipment manufacture, installation and conformity assessment activities.
  • Provide technical decisions on pressure compliance issues within delegated authority.
  • Maintain compliance documentation, processes and supporting technical requirements.
  • Interface with international suppliers and support occasional European project travel.
  • Support project delivery while maintaining nuclear safety and quality requirements.
