Job summary

Sunny Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a site in Pembrokeshire, on-site, in the Oil & Gas sector. The role is full-time with an on-call rota and reports to the Engineering Manager.

You will maintain rotating and static mechanical equipment, lead maintenance projects and mentor apprentices. A degree in Mechanical Engineering and COMAH site experience are preferred. Salary starts at £73,000 with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Significant mechanical engineering and maintenance experience in an oil, gas or process environment.
• Experience on a top tier COMAH site.
• Proven troubleshooter with reliability improvement track record.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (beneficial).
• Knowledge of PSSR (beneficial).

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support for rotating and static equipment.
• Develop and improve maintenance strategies to drive reliability.
• Investigate faults using root cause analysis.
• Provide input to Management of Change and safety reviews.
• Manage mechanical engineering projects to completion.
• Line manage the Quality and Inspection Engineer and support apprentices.
• Act as budget holder for mechanical engineering.
