Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering team at a technically advanced, highly regulated site in Cramlington. The role is hands-on and involves owning maintenance activities to ensure reliability, safety, and efficiency of critical site operations across multiple systems.

The ideal candidate has experience in mechanical maintenance or engineering on a live site, can work independently or as part of a team, and is comfortable supervising contractors

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical maintenance or engineering environments.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance across site assets.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs.
• Identify opportunities for improvements and remedial works.
• Update maintenance records in CMMS.
• Support permit-to-work procedures.
• Supervise specialist subcontractors.
• Maintain asset documentation and compliance.
• Support safety inspections and risk assessments.
