Job summary

Omega in Cambridge is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design sub-modules for defence platforms. You will create and refine 3D models and drawings using Creo, and manage design data in Windchill.

The role requires collaboration across engineering teams to meet demanding schedules and coordinate with suppliers for rapid prototyping and low-volume manufacture. Applicants should have strong Creo CAD skills and experience with Windchill, with a background in complex international supply chains.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD and PLM tools relevant to mechanical design.
• Familiarity with design-for-manufacture practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical sub-assemblies and components for platform integration.
• Develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using Creo.
• Manage and maintain design data within Windchill PLM systems.
• Support design reviews and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to meet timelines.
• Liaise with manufacturing suppliers and production facilities for prototyping and low-volume manufacture.
• Recommend materials, processes and DFM approaches.
