Job summary

Omega Plc is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design sub-assemblies for defence platforms, delivering high-quality solutions within tight timelines.

Reporting to Engineering Manager, you will create 3D Creo models, maintain Windchill data, support design reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to optimise manufacturability and supply chains. Experience with international supplier networks and DFMA approaches is essential.

Qualifications

• Design mechanical sub-assemblies and components for platform integration.
• Develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using Creo.
• Manage and maintain design data within Windchill PLM systems.
• Support design reviews and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to meet tight timelines.
• Liaise with manufacturing suppliers and production facilities for rapid prototyping and low-volume manufacture.
• Recommend materials, processes and design-for-manufacture approaches.
• Proficiency in Creo CAD software & AAX plugin.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Mechanical Engineer shall be responsible for the design and development of mechanical sub-modules for integration onto an advanced defence platforms platform. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong CAD design skills and experience delivering high-quality mechanical solutions. Duties - Mechanical Engineer

• Design mechanical sub-assemblies and components for integration onto platforms.
• Develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using Creo.
• Manage and maintain design data within Windchill PLM systems.
• Support design reviews and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver solutions to demanding timelines.
• Liaise with manufacturing suppliers and production facilities to support rapid prototyping and low-volume manufacture.
• Recommend suitable materials, manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacture approaches. Proven mechanical design engineering experience.
• Proficiency in PTC Creo CAD software & AAX plugin.
• Experience using Windchill for product data and configuration management.
• Strong background managing complex international supply chains and large supplier networks Candidates who are currently a Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Development Engineer, Project Engineer, Engineering Manager and Draughtsperson could be suitable for this position.
