Job summary

Aztrum in Kent is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our building services team. You will design mechanical building services systems (HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation and domestic water) and deliver detailed calculations, drawings and reports.

You will collaborate with clients, architects and engineers to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets, mentor junior staff, and contribute to a diverse portfolio across sectors. Hybrid working option available.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a UK building services consultancy.
• Intermediate or Senior level experience in mechanical building services design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and mechanical design packages.
• Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Chartered status desired but not essential.

Responsibilities

Kent (Hybrid - 3 Days Office / 2 Days Home)

£45,000 - £65,000 DOE

A well-established building services consultancy is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team in Kent. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while progressing your career within a supportive and forward-thinking consultancy.

The successful candidate will be involved in the design and delivery of mechanical building services solutions across a variety of sectors, working closely with clients, architects and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality projects from concept through to completion.

The Role

• Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation and domestic water services.
• Produce detailed calculations, reports, specifications and technical drawings.
• Coordinate designs with electrical, structural and architectural teams.
• Attend client and design team meetings.
• Carry out site visits and surveys where required.
• Support the successful delivery of projects within agreed timescales and budgets.
• Mentor junior engineers where appropriate.

Requirements

• Experience working within a UK building services consultancy.
• Intermediate or Senior level experience in mechanical building services design.
• Proficiency with industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit and mechanical design packages.
• Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Working towards or already Chartered status is desirable but not essential.
