Job summary

ALTEN in the United Kingdom is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Derby team supporting the Nuclear sector. You will use Siemens NX and Teamcenter to create, manage, and release mechanical design data in a regulated environment, working alongside senior engineers on high-integrity systems.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (or equivalent military experience) and hands-on NX and Teamcenter experience.

Qualifications

• Practical experience using Siemens NX.
• Working knowledge of Teamcenter PLM.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Strong attention to detail and configuration discipline.
• Ability to work within structured engineering processes.

Responsibilities

• Produce and modify 3D models and engineering drawings using Siemens NX.
• Manage design data, revisions, and configuration control within Teamcenter.
• Support mechanical design development under guidance from senior engineers.
• Assist with preparation of technical documentation and design deliverables.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure design integration.
• Follow quality and configuration management processes in a regulated environment.

Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will join Derbyteam to support our activities within theNuclearsector.

You will support design activities using Siemens NX and Teamcenter, contributing to the creation, management, and release of mechanical design data in a highly regulated engineering environment. This role offers the opportunity to develop hands‑on experience working alongside senior engineers on complex, high-integrity systems.

• Clearance: BPSS
• Experience Level: 1- 5 YOE

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and modify 3D models and engineering drawings using Siemens NX
• Manage design data, revisions, and configuration control within Teamcenter
• Support mechanical design development under guidance from senior engineers
• Assist with preparation of technical documentation and design deliverables
