The role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be involved in decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, and aiding the operation and build of nuclear power plants. Our mission is to clean up the nuclear legacy and contribute to national security, energy supply, and net zero commitments.

Our skilled team handles defence, decommissioning, new build, and nuclear generation projects, winning over 78% of tenders. We innovate to make nuclear safer, faster, and more cost-effective, working with projects like Hinkley C, Sizewell C, and X Energy.

Duties include:

• Promote effective cooperation across engineering and other teams
• Manage customer relationships, interface on design issues, and assist with procurement specifications
• Ensure procedures, codes, and standards are correctly applied
• Contribute to Product Safety Assessment processes
• Provide technical interface with stakeholders
• Conduct investigations and analyses for problem-solving and improvements
• Support process improvements in the operational and design lifecycle
• Apply engineering knowledge to produce technical solutions and documentation

Essential experience

• Nuclear experience is not required; applications from all engineering backgrounds are welcome
• Ownership, high performance, and courage to challenge the status quo
• Knowledge of CAD tools and engineering drawing practices
• Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent experience

The successful candidate must hold or be able to achieve SC security clearance.
