Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our dewatering and maintenance team. The role covers mobile work across South England on water company wastewater sites, with 40 hours per week and a competitive package including a company vehicle and Veolia benefits.

You will work within a proactive team, perform intricate asset overhauls, mechanical repairs, and install pipework while liaising with on-site client teams and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Hands on engineering maintenance experience.
  • NVQ or a recognised Level 3 mechanical engineering apprenticeship are required.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team of mechanical engineers or fitters across multiple sites.
  • Carry out asset overhauls and replacements and perform repairs to dewatering equipment.
  • Carry out inspections, services and repairs to customers' dewatering assets and equipment.
  • Lead pipework installations using plastic, stainless steel and mild steel materials.
  • Complete test reports, installation certificates and safety paperwork.

Due to a growing client and service portfolio, Veolia Dewatering and Maintenance Solutions are seeking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to work on water company wastewater sites.

The Mechanical Engineer role would suit existing Field Service Engineers looking for new challenges. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a pro-active and passionate team.

What you'll be doing;
  • Work as part of a team of other mechanical engineers or mechanical fitters, often consisting of two engineers across a range of sites
  • Carry out complex and detailed asset overhauls and replacements
  • Undertake mechanical repairs and modifications to dewatering equipment, pumps, pipework, valves and other ancillary equipment
  • Carry out inspections, services and repairs to customers' dewatering assets machines
  • Carry out pipework installations using plastic, stainless steel and mild steel materials and other ancillary equipment
  • Undertake standby cover and overtime as required as well as flexibility to work away from home
  • Complete test reports, installation certificates and customer feedback documentsComplete customer paperwork such as permits to work and safety paperwork
  • Work alongside on-site customer teams.
  • Liaise on site with customers as the first point of contact
  • Lead the maintenance and repair of dewatering equipment and ancillaries on sewage and clean water treatment facilities.
  • Ensure energy efficient operation of assets, minimise downtime and potential pollution risks by effectively maintaining assets
  • Help reduce raw material usage on assets by completing thorough service and maintenance tasks using first time fixes
What we're looking for;
  • NVQ or a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering maintenance at Level 3
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Hands on engineering maintenance experience

  • DSEAR Awareness
  • PASMA Trained
