Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Reading is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to maintain and optimise the building's mechanical systems, including HVAC, pumps and motors. You will perform scheduled inspections, servicing and repairs to ensure reliability and energy efficiency.

You will diagnose faults, respond to emergencies, document work orders, liaise with contractors, and uphold health and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Mechanical Engineer or similar role in facilities management preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, motors and associated controls.
  • Proficient in diagnosing faults and conducting planned preventative maintenance.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Plumbing experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, servicing and repairs of mechanical systems and equipment such as HVAC systems, pumps and motors.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to mechanical faults, breakdowns and emergencies to minimise disruption.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using appropriate tools and determine best repair action.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely resolution and documentation of work.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment data.
