Job summary
HVAC Total FM Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in Birmingham. The role focuses on maintaining mechanical building services across a portfolio, handling PPM, reactive maintenance, servicing and fault-finding on heating systems, pumps, pipework and boilers.
The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, strong fault-finding skills, and a full UK driving licence. Excellent communication and customer service are essential for liaising with tenants and site teams.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent mechanical qualification.
- Previous mechanical maintenance experience.
- Commercial or domestic building maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Experience with heating systems, pumps and pipework.
- Good understanding of planned and reactive maintenance.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good communication and customer service skills.

You'll be working on a range of mechanical building services including heating systems, pumps, pipework, boilers and associated plant, carrying out PPM, fault finding, repairs and general mechanical maintenance.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for keeping mechanical building services operating safely and efficiently across a portfolio of properties.
The role will involve a combination of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repairs.
You'll manage your workload through a CAFM or mobile job management system and work closely with customers, tenants and the wider facilities team.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Respond to reactive maintenance and breakdowns
Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs
Maintain commercial and domestic heating systems
Service and repair pumps, valves and associated equipment
Carry out maintenance on pipework and plumbing systems
Work on boilers and heating plant
Complete mechanical remedial works
