Job summary

Oxford Space Systems in Harwell, United Kingdom, is expanding its mechanical engineering team. We are hiring two Mechanical Engineers: one focusing on Design and one on Analysis and Test to advance our deployable antennas and flight-model product lines.

You will work on mechanical engineering projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, support bids and supplier engagement, and strive to reduce cost, risk and lead time while meeting project deadlines.

The Role

It’s an exciting timeat OSS as we continue to work on new product opportunities and establish flightmodel product lines. To support that effort, and as our business grows, we arelooking to hire two Mechanical Engineers, one with a focus on Design and onewith a focus on Analysis and Test.

As a MechanicalEngineer at Oxford Space Systems, you will contribute to the design anddevelopment of our innovative antennas. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Contributing tomechanical engineering projects, supporting delivery to cost, schedule, riskand technical requirements
  • Working with customersand internal stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve technicalchallenges
  • Collaborating withcross functional teams, including manufacturing, assembly, integration, test,procurement and external suppliers.
  • Identifyingopportunities to reduce cost, risk and lead time while driving continuousimprovements across products and processes.
  • Supporting bids,proposals, supplier engagement and the integration of new technologies.

You will likely have amaster's or higher degree in a relevant engineering or physical sciencesdiscipline, combined with a solid understanding of at least one of thefollowing disciplines: analysis and test and design. You will be a team player with excellentrelationship building skills along with the aptitude to solve challengingproblems and deliver to project deadlines.
