Job summary

ABM is seeking an engineer to repair plumbing and mechanical fixtures across our contract sites in the UK. The role covers PPM for water hygiene assets and full commissioning of HVAC equipment, with a bias toward mechanical/electrical tasks in a multi-skilled capacity.

You will manage workloads, meet deadlines, and prepare quotations for remedial jobs over £500, while ensuring safety and compliance with contract terms and site procedures.

Qualifications

• Plumbing Level 2 & 3 NVQ.
• L8 qualified or equivalent.
• IPAF and PASMA certifications.
• Understand SFG20 and deliver works to timescales.

Responsibilities

• Repair plumbing and mechanical fixtures on site.
• Carry out PPM for water hygiene assets in line with SFG20.
• Manage workloads, deadlines and quote remedial jobs over £500.
• Conduct general mechanical/electrical tasks as part of a multi-skilled role.
• Fully commission and service HVAC equipment.
• Collaborate with contracts staff to meet contract terms.
• Produce technical/reject reports and workload documentation.
• Ensure safety on site per method statements and risk assessments.
• Complete timesheets weekly for line manager submission.
• Submit expenses weekly with receipts.

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

• Primary responsibility is to repair all plumber and mechanical fixtures on the contract.

• PPM to water hygiene assetsinlinewith the SFG20.

• This role requires someone who can manage workloads, meetdeadlinesand arrange quotations of remedial jobs over £500.

• Engineer is expected to be competent in general engineer works with a multi-skilled role or a biased towards mechanical, electrical trades

• Full commissioning and servicing ofallHVAC Equipment.

• Co-operation with contracts staff were necessary to achieve our employer’s acceptance in line with agreed contract terms.

• Producealldocumentation as dictated by workload,i.e..Technical reports and reject reports for failures of components or plant.

• Responsible for own Health & Safety on site and follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments as standard on all sites, highlighting specific requirements asrequired.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintenance and reactive repair toplumbing accessoriestocurrent regulations,standardsand manufacturer’s instructions.

• Mechanical and electrical general competence.

• Quoted work repairs and light installation work on gas equipment across our network of sites.

• Completing a weekly time sheet correctly andsubmittingit to your line manager

• Submitting Expenses weekly with all supporting receipts.

• Completing all necessary paperwork for the customer whilst on site and obtaining a customer’s signature to enable the job attended to be invoiced without anydelays.

• Completing engineer’s worksheet in full, giving full details of plant that requiresadditionalwork.

• Identifyinglifecycle replacement requirements.

• Plumbing level 2 & 3 NVQ.

• L8 Qualified.

• IPAF, PASMA.

• Understand SFG20 and delivering of works to a timescale.

• Preferredto have NVQ in Mechanical and/or electrical to backup gas qualifications.

DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

• Extra qualifications to enable further self-delivery of our contract.
