Job summary

CMC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our client in Aberdeen on a 4-month contract. The role begins with on-site training and onboarding, with hybrid/remote flexibility once up to speed.

You will work on interpreting engineering drawings, marking up drawings, handling ECNs, and using PLM or similar document-control tools, alongside solid Excel skills to track progress. This assignment supports global technology brands, requiring a proactive engineer capable of following structured

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background with experience interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience with engineering drawing markups (redlining / PDF annotation).
• Experience working with Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
• Exposure to PLM systems or similar engineering document control tools.
• Understanding of manufacturing fundamentals such as threads, plating processes (pre/post plating), and BOM structures.
• Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills for tracking progress and effort.
• Ability to follow structured engineering processes and work through a high volume of drawing updates.
• Eligibility for BPSS (defence-related environment).

Job description

This project will require an initial on-site presence for training and onboarding, hybrid/remote flexibility once up to speed.

In order to suit the project requirements you should have some of the following:

• Mechanical engineering background with experience interpreting engineering drawings
