Recruitment Helpline Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Service Engineer to service sewage pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants. The role is field-based, covering site visits, fault-finding and maintenance across customer sites in the region.

Qualifications

Responsabilités

• Service, repair and maintain sewage pumping stations and wastewater systems.
• Diagnose faults and rectify electrical and mechanical issues on pumps, motors and control panels.
• Install new pumping systems and treatment plant equipment.
• Conduct planned preventative maintenance and emergency callouts.
• Complete site reports, risk assessments and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations.

Job Description:

The company are seeking a skilled and motivated Sewage Pump & Treatment Plant Service Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of sewage pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, control panels, and associated electrical and mechanical equipment. This is a field-based role requiring a practical engineer with strong electrical and mechanical experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.

Key Duties:

• Service, maintain, and repair sewage pumping stations and wastewater treatment systems.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults on pumps, motors, control panels, and associated equipment.
• Install new pumping systems, treatment plants, and control equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and emergency breakdown callouts.
• Test and inspect electrical systems, including control panels, floats, sensors, and alarms.
• Perform pump removals, replacements, and overhauls.
• Complete site reports, service records, and risk assessments accurately.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Liaise professionally with customers, site managers, and office staff and managing the servicing diary / schedule.

Candidate Requirements: Essential:

• Proven experience working with sewage pumps, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, or related water industry equipment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and mechanical maintenance skills.
• Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
• Experience with motors, pumps, control panels, float switches, level controls, and telemetry systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Candidate Requirements: Desirable:

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
• Electrical testing and inspection qualifications.
• Confined Space Entry certification.
