A leading UK-based railway operator is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Technician to ensure the operational safety of rolling stock. The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and proven heavy maintenance experience. Successful candidates will perform both preventative and reactive maintenance under high safety standards in a supportive work environment with opportunities for continuous development.

This is not "just another maintenance role"; it is a fantastic opportunity to apply your skills in a high-demand industry that is vital to the UK economy. As a qualified Mechanical or Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for keeping a modern fleet of rolling stock operational and safe.
Whether you're from a background in HGV maintenance, aerospace, plant machinery, marine, the armed forces, or REMEs, your transferable skills in heavy maintenance are exactly what we need. You are the kind of person who is a natural problem-solver, takes pride in your craft, and enjoys continuous learning.
You'll work on a 4-on, 4-off shift rota (2 days, 2 nights), with 12-hour shifts from 7:00am-7:00pm. This pattern gives you consistent long breaks between shifts, allowing plenty of time to rest, recharge and enjoy life outside of work.
You must also pass pre-employment checks, including a Drugs & Alcohol screening and a full rail medical.
