Job Title: Maintenance Shift Fitter & Electrician
Location: Doncaster, UK
Salary: Circa £45,000+ per annum
Hours: Full-Time | 42 hours/week
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Shift Fitter to join our client’s Doncaster site. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of all plant equipment through effective maintenance, repair, and installation work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical skills and a hands-on approach to engineering within a process or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical:
- Conduct day-to-day maintenance of all plant equipment and machinery.
- Carry out risk assessments before starting any maintenance task.
- Install, maintain, and commission new and existing equipment without disrupting production.
- Perform hands-on mechanical maintenance in line with the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule.
- Diagnose faults and proactively resolve mechanical issues to reduce downtime.
Electrical:
- Carry out electrical installation work across a wide range of industrial applications.
- Perform day-to-day maintenance and fault diagnosis on all plant and machinery.
- Conduct risk assessments prior to undertaking any electrical task.
- Install and maintain new and existing equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
Candidate Requirements
Mechanical:
- Time-served apprenticeship or a recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Strong fabrication and mechanical fitting skills are essential.
- Experience in refrigeration systems is advantageous.
- Previous experience in a factory, process, or production environment is required.
Electrical:
- Recognised Electrician Apprenticeship or relevant Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent).
- Significant industrial electrical experience, ideally in a continuous process or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with general factory maintenance practices and safe working procedures.
- Basic knowledge of PLC logic and inverter drives.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot efficiently.
