Job Title: Site Electrical Engineer

Location: Selby, North Yorkshire YO8
Salary: GBP depending on experience but extremely competitive
Working Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30, plus rota based on call system
Commutable from: Leeds, Doncaster, York, Goole, East Riding, Beverley, or Pocklington

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Electrical Engineer with power generation expertise to join our established team. The role involves managing electrical and control systems onsite, ensuring electrical/power requirements are met, developing safe work systems, and supporting the maintenance team for optimal site efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Senior Authorised Person (SAP) duties up to 11KV.
• Act as Duty Holder for all LV and HV electrical systems.
• Manage operation and repair of large-scale CHP (21MW capacity).
• Review and improve electrical safety standards in compliance with regulations.
• Liaise with project teams and service providers.
• Oversee operation and repair of electrical equipment including switchboards, transformers, UPS, and drives.
• Assist in fault diagnosis and develop solutions with the electrical maintenance team.
• Support the development of the CMMS Mainsim.
• Manage electrical inspections and testing, ensuring documentation compliance under EWA and DSEAR.
• Assist mechanical maintenance with isolations and plant integration.
• Perform other duties as reasonably required.

Required Skills and Experience

• HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering with relevant experience.
• Current SAP or AP status, aiming to progress to Authorising Engineer.
• Knowledge of electrical equipment and systems, including protection, HV switchgear, and control systems.
• Operational experience in power generation, maintenance, or construction.
• Fault diagnosis skills and solution development.
• Understanding of electrical legislation.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Windows 10.
• Strong team player with excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Organisational skills.
