Job summary

Ross-shire Engineering Limited is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our in‑house multidisciplinary design team on a permanent basis. You will handle projects from scoping and FEED through to construction support, ensuring compliance with client specifications and current regulatory standards.

You will develop mechanical design aspects, liaise with stakeholders and equipment suppliers, and participate in safety studies such as HAZOP.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in mechanical design for municipal water/wastewater projects is desirable.
• Experience in a multidiscipline design team.
• Experience across design stages from optioneering/FEED to construction support and as-built is desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical design elements from inception to implementation.
• Ensure compliance with client specs and regulatory standards.
• Participate in project reviews and safety studies (HAZOP).
• Consider health, safety, quality and environmental aspects in projects.
• Liaise with stakeholders and equipment suppliers to develop design solutions.
