Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Inc. in Bradford, UK, is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of projects from concept to manufacture and production support.

You will design mechanical systems, fabricate structures and vehicle-mounted equipment for transport applications, collaborating closely with manufacturing and suppliers. You'll produce 3D CAD models using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, and lead projects through design, testing and implementation while improving product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proven mechanical design experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, or industrial machinery sectors.
• Strong understanding of drawings, tolerancing and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems, structures and vehicle-mounted equipment.
• Produce 3D CAD models and drawings with Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Lead projects from concept to production implementation.
• Develop solutions integrating mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical subsystems.
• Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Service and suppliers to ensure manufacturability.
• Support prototype builds, testing and validation.
• Drive continuous improvement in product performance, quality and cost.
• Provide technical support for existing products and bespoke projects.
