Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in the Sheffield area to own and progress complex sub-assemblies from concept through to detailed design. This hands-on contract role focuses on robust mechanical solutions in demanding environments, with close collaboration to a small engineering team and senior technical leadership.

You will produce detailed drawings, perform quick calculations and ensure bolt-on assemblies interface correctly with the main machine,

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in mechanics, stress analysis and detailed design.
• Ability to own sub-assemblies from concept to final detailing.
• Experience producing detailed drawings and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Progress the mechanical design of multiple sub-assemblies to completion.
• Produce detailed mechanical drawings and supporting documentation.
• Standardise bolt-on assemblies for correct fit and interface.
• Carry out hand calculations and basic stress assessments.
• Interpret existing designs quickly and participate in design reviews.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable, robust and meet project timelines.
