Job summary

The Product Design Engineer at Swegon UK&I will be based at our Whitstable site and provide technical leadership in the design and lifecycle support of mechanical products. You will work on reverse engineering and redesign of legacy products to ensure functional, cost, manufacturing and regulatory requirements are met, collaborating with the senior design engineer to set technical direction.

Key duties include creating 2D/3D CAD models, executing DOE, performing FEA analyses, and guiding design

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years mechanical design engineering experience

Responsibilities

• Ensure all designs, prototypes and development activities meet health, safety and regulatory requirements
• Conduct reverse engineering to redesign and improve existing products
• Develop concept designs from analysis and requirements
• Produce 2D/3D CAD models and drawings using AutoCAD
• Plan and execute prototype manufacture, build and evaluation
• Design of Experiments (DOE) execution
• Perform FEA analysis (Nastran)
• Analyse test data to drive product improvement
• Perform root cause analysis and technical problem solving
• Support manufacturing and resolve design issues
• Maintain technical documentation and project reports
• Conduct design reviews and present data to stakeholders
