Job summary

Cyden Ltd. is seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer for a fixed-term 12-month maternity cover in Swansea, Wales. The role focuses on mechanical design, DFMEA, and cross-functional collaboration across Research, Electronics, Product Management and Test teams.

The engineer will use SolidWorks for 3D modeling, create 2D drawings with tolerancing, and support prototypes, production transfer, and packaging development while driving continuous improvement and robust design solutions.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks 3D modeling experience required.
• Experience creating 2D drawings with tolerancing.
• Familiarity with DFMEA/DFM concepts is a plus.
• Ability to work across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components in SolidWorks and create 2D drawings.
• Ensure designs are suitable for mass production.
• Support prototype testing and analyze data for improvements.
• Generate DFMEA, DFM, DFA documentation.
• Support packaging development and product transfer to production.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering change notices.
