The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree and is proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred), with strong mathematical reasoning and attention to detail. GBP40,000–GBP45,000 plus bonuses and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Hands-on design of products for mass production.
• Proficient with mathematics and theoretical analysis of mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Write clear Product Brief documents with requirements and scope.
• Design product architectures, platforms, and interfaces.
• Perform feasibility studies to quantify risks.
• Detail design of parts using 3D CAD for in-house or external manufacture.
• Ensure DF M to meet high quality and cost objectives.
• Create 2D drawings, data sheets and regulatory information.
• Create prototypes and production-ready parts.
• Test prototypes against requirements and document results.
• Produce test reports and action plans to resolve issues.
• Keep up to date with technologies to stay at industry edge.
• Follow ISO 9001 quality processes and safety standards.
• Perform FMEA to assess failure modes.
• Record, track and resolve defects.
