Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a hybrid role in East London. You will design, develop, and improve industrial machinery, translating client needs into robust mechanical solutions using CAD tools and simulation.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 5 years' experience in industrial design, proficiency in Inventor/SolidWorks/AutoCAD, and a practical understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and FEA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design for industrial machinery or automation.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software and FEA tools.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and GD&T.
  • Excellent problem-solving and hands-on engineering approach.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components, sub-systems, and complete machines for industrial applications using advanced CAD software.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
  • Perform mechanical analysis, including stress, fatigue, and kinematic analysis, to ensure design robustness.
  • Collaborate with electrical and controls engineers to integrate mechanical designs with automation systems.
  • Oversee prototype construction, testing, and validation, making necessary design modifications.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing and customer inquiries related to mechanical design.
