Job summary

G3 Systems Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Deployable Infrastructure Group in Portland, Dorset. You’ll develop 3D CAD models and drawings, support analysis, and help transition designs to manufacture and integration.

You’ll work closely with engineers, project managers, and suppliers in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment, seeing concepts move from concept to on-site realisation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Around 3+ years’ experience in a mechanical design role.
• Strong 3D CAD experience (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
• Experience taking designs through to manufacture or delivery.
• Eligible for (or able to obtain) security clearance.
• Experience with BoMs and technical documentation.
• Experience working with suppliers / RFQs.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop 3D models and technical drawings for manufacture and integration.
• Support design analysis and validation, including FEA where required.
• Create and manage Bills of Materials and technical documentation.
• Support the transition from design to build, ensuring systems are ready for manufacture and integration.
• Work closely with the on-site integration facility, supporting builds and resolving real-world engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure designs are delivered as intended.
• Contribute to technical proposals, tenders, and project delivery.
