Job summary

G3 Systems Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Deployable Infrastructure Group in Portland, Dorset. You’ll develop 3D CAD models and drawings, support analysis, and help transition designs to manufacture and integration.

You’ll work closely with engineers, project managers, and suppliers in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment, seeing concepts move from concept to on-site realisation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Around 3+ years’ experience in a mechanical design role.
• Strong 3D CAD experience (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
• Experience taking designs through to manufacture or delivery.
• Eligible for (or able to obtain) security clearance.
• Experience with BoMs and technical documentation.
• Experience working with suppliers / RFQs.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop 3D models and technical drawings for manufacture and integration.

• Support the transition from design to build, ensuring systems are ready for manufacture and integration.

We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Deployable Infrastructure Group, helping turn concepts into real-world systems that are manufactured, deployed, and used in the field.

With our integration facility located on-site, you’ll have the unique opportunity to see your designs come to life. Watching systems move from concept through build, integration, and final deployment.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be involved across the full design lifecycle, working closely with engineers, project managers, and the supply chain to deliver practical, high-quality solutions.

You will:

• Own and develop 3D models and technical drawings for manufacture and integration

What we’re looking for

• AutoCAD experience

• Knowledge of BS / ISO standards
• Experience with BoMs and technical documentation
