Location: Stockport (Hybrid)

Contract Term: 12-month rolling (long-term project)

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a major water infrastructure program. This role offers the chance to work on complex projects that shape the future of clean and wastewater systems across the UK.

What You'll Do
  • Develop mechanical designs that meet stringent safety and quality standards.
  • Produce detailed calculations and technical drawings for water-related assets.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to CAD technicians.
  • Define scopes of work and review outputs from subcontracted design teams.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, prepare specifications, and evaluate technical proposals.
  • Deliver design reports, investigations, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and project governance.
  • Manage design changes and maintain accurate records throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Estimate resource requirements and contribute to planning.
  • Represent the design team in meetings and technical presentations.
