Shirley Parsons is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a 12-month contract to deliver mechanical design across water infrastructure projects in the UK. The role is hybrid with offices in Manchester, Leeds, or Chester and requires occasional site travel.

You will design and specify mechanical systems for clean water, wastewater, and sludge treatment facilities, contributing to sustainable water engineering solutions across the UK. Strong collaboration and leadership are expected.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3-6 years of experience in mechanical engineering, ideally in the water sector.
  • Strong technical skills in mechanical design and specification.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in mentoring or team leadership is a plus.

About the Role

A respected UK-based engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a 12-month contract to support the delivery of water infrastructure projects across the UK. This hybrid role offers flexibility to work from offices in Manchester, Leeds, or Chester, with travel to project sites as required.
You'll be involved in the design and implementation of mechanical systems for clean water, wastewater, and sludge treatment facilities, contributing to sustainable engineering solutions within the UK water industry.
