Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive design, engineering and specification of new products within the design team, delivering production-ready designs and guiding DFMEA and tolerance analysis.

Reporting to the Technical Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with Manufacturing and Development to optimise for manufacture, produce 2D GD&T drawings, and support existing products through mass production while sustaining ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent engineering background with focus on mechanical engineering.
• Track record of taking products from prototype through mass production.
• Experience with sheet metal manufacturing processes (folding and welding).
• Experience producing DFMEA reports and following through actions.
• Experience producing 2D production drawings with GD&T.
• Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment.

Responsibilities

• Take products from concept through to detailed engineering drawings ready for manufacture.
• Collaborate with Production Engineering to refine designs, reducing costs and improving efficiency.
• Assess manufacturing methods for designs considering in-house and external capabilities.
• Lead DFMEA activity at project start and track actions.
• Apply tolerance stack-up analysis to support manufacturability and function.
• Collaborate across NPD with Development, Production Engineering and Purchasing to apply DFM principles.
• Maintain progress feedback sheets for new product development.
