About the CAD Design Technical Engineer Role

Key Responsibilities of the Design Technical Engineer

• Create, update, and manage accurate CAD models, 2D/3D drawings, and supporting documentation
• Improve CNC machining and tooling processes through data analysis and practical experimentation
• Work on the development, testing, and validation of new product ideas
• Identify and deliver workflow efficiencies in design-to-manufacture systems
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure technical clarity on bespoke or client-specific projects
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and audit-ready documentation standards
• Support continuous improvement projects and lean manufacturing initiatives

What We’re Looking For in a CAD Design Engineer

• Expertise in 2D/3D CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD or equivalent)
• Confident analysing data and identifying production or design bottlenecks
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and document management
• Detail-focused and able to interpret complex engineering specs
• Highly organised, proactive and technically curious
• Strong communication skills and collaborative working style

Bonus Experience (Not Essential):

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Product/Building Engineering
• CNC programming or machining knowledge
• Experience in lean/continuous improvement environments
• Familiarity with architectural or structural product development
