About the Role

RPS is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Building Services team based in Newcastle. Applications from Manchester and Birmingham are also welcome.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed Mechanical Building Services Design Engineering for new and refurbishment projects.
• Assist in feasibility, concept, and scheme design stages.
• Participate in design team meetings.
• Inspect and report on mechanical building systems.
• Develop surveys, designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with legislative and safety standards.
• Use Building Services software for calculations.
• Produce or direct CAD drawings.
• Select and specify products and standards for Mechanical services.
• Attend project meetings and workshops as needed.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will have a Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent and experience aligned with IMechE or CIBSE standards. Skills include designing mechanical systems from concept to detailed design, proficiency in Hevacomp/IES, AutoCAD interpretation, understanding of Building Regulations Part L, and proficiency in MS Office.
