Job summary

Automated Industrial Robotics seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver end-to-end design for special purpose machinery. You will develop concepts into production-ready drawings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities include designing to BS/ISO standards, producing accurate drawings, and ensuring projects stay on time and within budget. Strong CAD skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or HNC in mechanical engineering and a strong practical track record.
• Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD design for special purpose machinery.
• Experience delivering life-cycle mechanical design from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical design to meet customer requirements.
• Provide cost-aware design solutions and manage scope changes.
• Ensure schedules and workloads meet objectives.
• Communicate project status to Management and leads.
• Produce drawings for production and update BOMs as required.
• Support projects to meet timescales and budgets.
• Utilise supplier software to determine design parameters.
• Adhere to BS/ISO standards and input data into company systems.
• Conduct risk assessments on machinery and safety.
• Collaborate to adopt economical design strategies.
• Take on additional tasks and promote innovative processes.
