Job summary

Team Jobs - Strategic Accounts in Yeovil is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading aerospace engineering organisation. You will contribute to the design and development of advanced mechanical systems, working on concept designs, tolerances, and manufacture considerations.

The role requires 2+ years in mechanical design, proficiency in 3D CAD (Siemens NX) and 2D CAD, and a strong grasp of GD&T.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in mechanical design, ideally involving precision components.
• Experience using 3D CAD, preferably Siemens NX.
• Competent in both 2D and 3D CAD.
• Basic understanding of Configuration Control.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Understanding of machining, manufacturing techniques, and design for manufacture principles.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and SIX Sigma is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with a customer–focused and results–driven approach.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast–paced, multi–project engineering environment.

Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading aerospace engineering organisation based in Yeovil. This is an excellent opportunity to work on innovative aerospace projects, contributing to the design and development of advanced mechanical systems within a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred but not essential.
• Candidates with relevant engineering experience and a strong technical background will also be considered.
• Experience designing small, fine–tolerance mechanical components is desirable.
