Job summary

Ampira Energy Limited is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in West Midlands, UK to develop and integrate mechanical assemblies within complex products. You will work closely with Electrical, Systems, and Software teams from concept to manufacture, ensuring performance, quality, cost, and compliance.

You will create CAD models in SolidWorks, manage documentation, and support prototype and production builds while maintaining BOM integrity and engaging with suppliers to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks; familiarity with PDM systems and FEA tools is a plus.
  • Experience designing sheet metal and fabricated assemblies; welded assemblies are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Translate customer and project requirements into mechanical design specifications.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks, considering manufacturability and cost.
  • Collaborate with Electrical and Systems teams to develop safe, practical solutions.
  • Support prototype and production builds with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Maintain BOMs and engineering documentation; release in line with project schedules.

# Mechanical Design EngineerWest Midlands, UKCompetitiveApply / Discuss This RoleRegister for Similar RolesOur client, a global engineering and manufacturing organisation specialising in industrial power testing and electrical equipment, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development and integration of mechanical assemblies within complex engineered products.
