Job description

My client is a leading designer and manufacturer of refuelling solutions and systems for a range of industries including Marine, Aviation and Defence. They are now looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established team in Stroud. The ideal candidate will come from a Mechanical Design background, will be highly proficient with AutoCAD and will have an understanding of both Sheet Metal manufacturing and Hydraulic systems.

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Overview

• Design and detail of refuelling vehicles and associated equipment
• Generating tender documents from customer specification
• Selection of components, compilation of BOMs and costings
• Preparing both 3D CAD date & 2D manufacturing drawings using Inventor & AutoCAD

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Requirements

• Qualified to at least HNC in Mechanical Engineering
• Previous experience in a mechanical Design role is essential
• Knowledge of sheet metal, fabrication & geometric design and tolerances
• Experienced in the use of 2D & 3D CAD packages
• An understanding of Fluid Dynamics, Pneumatics and Hydraulics would be highly beneficial
