Job Title: Senior Design Engineer
Location: Stowmarket
Type: Full–Time, Permanent
Salary: 45,000 – 60,000 (depending on experience)

We are working with a fantastic business in Stowmarket seeking a Senior Design Engineer. This role involves designing and implementing new products, continuously improving existing designs, and developing new technologies from concept through to completion.

We are looking for a motivated individual who drives continuous improvement, works well within a team, maintains a positive attitude, and is committed to success. Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) and proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or similar) are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Manage product data using the Company's Product Data Management (PDM) software (Vault), ensuring parts are accurately revised.
• Design and collaborate on new product implementations.
• Produce technical specifications, detailed drawings, and perform necessary calculations.
• Create parts within the Company's Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
• Provide engineering support across all business areas.
• Support and maintain the existing product range.
• Assist in generating Technical Files for CE/UKCA marking and other compliance requirements.
• Prepare documentation required for directives or legislative standards.
• Ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
• Support New Product Development (NPD) timelines.
• Oversee and perform prototype machine testing.

Skills and Attributes:

• Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• HNC/HND qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM).
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or similar).
• Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning, tolerances, and materials.
• Experience working in a manufacturing and engineering LEAN environment.
• IT literate, including Excel, Word, 3D CAD, and ERP systems.
• Desirable experience with hydraulic and electrical machine integration.
