An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a rapidly expanding SME specialising in electro-mechanical systems. Based in Southampton, this role involves developing solutions for high-tech industries including automotive, aerospace, defence, and rail.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop electro-mechanical systems.
2. Conduct thermal and stress analysis to ensure product integrity under operational conditions.
3. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
4. Utilise 3D CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks, for design and simulation.
5. Perform hand calculations.

Skills Required:

1. Mechanical Design: Minimum 3 years of industry experience.
2. Thermal & Stress Analysis: Ability to perform detailed analysis to predict performance under thermal and mechanical stresses.
3. SolidWorks Proficiency: Expertise in SolidWorks for mechanical design and analysis. Experience with SolidWorks Flow and vibration environments is highly desirable.
4. Electro-mechanical systems design: Would be a plus.
