Job summary

Service Service is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer in Norwich to deliver mechanical design solutions across challenging projects. You will produce designs, drawings, and documentation using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, with hands-on involvement across engineering disciplines.

The role requires an HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, proven design experience, and strong communication to work with production, project management, and supply chain.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a mechanical design engineering role.
• Strong experience producing complex engineering drawings and 3D models.
• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of working to industry standards and regulations.
• Confident communicator with the ability to work across teams and with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Modify and maintain existing designs, datasheets, and technical documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges to ensure projects are delivered on time.

Mechanical Design Engineer

GBP55,000 to GBP60,000 per annum

Service Service is recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of a well–established engineering business in Norwich. This is a hands–on role focused on delivering mechanical design solutions across a range of technically challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical designs, assembly drawings, and detailed engineering documentation
• Develop solutions involving mechanical structures, rotating drives, and control systems
• Modify and maintain existing designs, datasheets, and technical documentation
• Identify and resolve technical challenges to ensure projects are delivered on time
• Collaborate with production, project management, and supply chain teams
• Attend design reviews and produce technical reports

About You

• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
