KLA in Newport, UK is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive the full mechanical design lifecycle for state-of-the-art semiconductor equipment. You will design front end modules and integrated components, work with suppliers, and validate designs across prototypes to production releases.

The Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells KLA's product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards to enable technologies like AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. We also develop technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates, and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics.
In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise. KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team based in Newport, UK. Purpose of the role: We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who is hands on, highly motivated, and a team player. The candidate will be engaged during the entire product lifecycle, from prototype to productization, and play a decisive role in the mechanical design and qualification of future KLA products. The engineer will support the design, building, and qualification of a wide range of KLA equipment front end modules (EFEMs) and integrated components. The candidate will be expected to provide technical solutions for new requirements and sustaining existing product portfolio and create prototypes for design verification though to production release.
