Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business in Milton Keynes. You will design and develop bespoke X-ray systems, enclosures, and multi-axis manipulators, collaborating with production, electrical and installation teams.

This contract role offers hybrid/remote options, a 6-month term with possible extension, and a pro rata salary depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Solid practical experience in engineering design and project work.
• Strong mechanical engineering design experience.
• Excellent 3D CAD skills, particularly SolidWorks.
• Good knowledge of engineering drawings and assemblies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Genuine pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Desirable: experience in NDT/X-ray, automation, software or electrical engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Designing and producing detailed drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Using SolidWorks 3D CAD to develop and modify designs.
• Working closely with electrical designers and other engineering teams.
• Supporting Project, Production and Installation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Helping deliver high-quality designs that meet customer and project requirements.

We re looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering business in Milton Keynes, working on the design and development of bespoke industrial X-ray systems, enclosures and multi-axis manipulators.

This is a great opportunity for a practical design engineer who enjoys working across projects and collaborating with production, electrical and installation teams.

The Role

You ll be responsible for:

• Designing and producing detailed drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Using SolidWorks 3D CAD to develop and modify designs.
