Job summary

BRUSH Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a qualified mechanical/industrial engineer to join the Transformer Engineering Department. You will produce mechanical designs for transformers and reactors up to 132kV, and prepare drawings under guidance.

The role requires Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D proficiency, a relevant engineering degree, and strong teamwork. Hybrid working and a competitive package are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/honours degree in engineering or technology.
• Higher National Diploma or Foundation Degree in engineering, with progression to degree level.
• Strong teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of mechanical design for power transformers and reactors up to 132kV/120MVA.

Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical designs of transformers and reactors for up to 132kV transformers as per Scope of Work.
• Prepare manufacturing and customer drawings under the direction of Senior Engineer/Engineering Manager to Scope of work.
• Produce transformer assembly and general assembly drawings.
• Support IT department to keep existing & future CAD systems up to date.
• Work with the customer and the wider Engineering team to achieve the required specifications.

What We’re Looking For

• An accredited Bachelors or honours degree in engineering or technology
• Autodesk inventor / AutoCAD 2D
• A Higher National Diploma or a Foundation Degree in engineering or technology, plus appropriate further learning to degree level.
• Strong teamworking & stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of Mechanical Design of Power Transformers and Reactors up to 132kV and 120MVA
