Job summary

Mechanical Design Engineer position near Keighley requires design and development of new mechanisms and machine systems to meet client needs. You will detail components, generate documentation and support bids, with SAP as part of part issuance.

The ideal candidate holds an HNC in Mechanical Engineering, with hands-on CAD experience (Siemens NX preferred) and a track record in mechanical design, DFMEA/PFMEA reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC Qualified in Electrical Engineering.
• Demonstrable experience in Mechanical Design.
• Previous CAD Experience – Siemens NX is advantageous.
• Software Skills: MS Office, SAP, CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Design and detailing of new components and mechanisms and systems
• Development of new processes including the use of new materials
• Development of existing components / designs
• Issuing of machine parts in SAP in accordance with delivery schedules
• Liaising with sales to provide support for technical bids
• Creating customer documentation and creating /maintaining records to client standards
• Conduct Design reviews – DFMEA's/ PFMEA's

Job description

Due to business growth, we are looking to recruit for a Mechanical Design Engineer for a leading manufacturing engineering company based near Keighley. This provides a rare opportunity to join a leading company who are a household name within their industry allowing you to gain exposure to a large variety of different disciplines.

The main purpose of the role is to design and develop new mechanisms and machine systems to support client requirements. This may be new design creation or adaptation of existing designs.

The ideal candidate will be a minimum HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering with a demonstrable background in Mechanical Design.

Hours – Monday – Friday 0745AM – 4PM (Flexitime available)

Key Responsibilities

• Design and detailing of new components and mechanisms and systems
• Development of new processes including the use of new materials
• Development of existing components / designs
• Issuing of machine parts in SAP in accordance with delivery schedules
