You will work across design, build and engineering development and collaborate with electrical, controls and manufacturing teams. The role requires a practical approach, SolidWorks proficiency and a willingness to contribute beyond pure design work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience within automation, machinery or manufacturing.
• Good understanding of tolerances, engineering principles and design for manufacture.
• Willingness to contribute beyond pure design work when required.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Experience specifying motors, drives or actuators.
• Exposure to robotics or automation projects.
• Understanding of motion control or integrated machinery systems.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings
• Support concept development for bespoke machinery and robotic systems

Introduction for Mechanical Design Engineer

Industrial Connected Talent is supporting a rapidly growing industrial automation business in the search for a Mechanical Design Engineer.

This is a hands-on design role focused on bespoke machinery, automation equipment and robotic systems. The role would suit someone who is strong in mechanical design but also comfortable supporting the wider engineering team and occasionally assisting with mechanical fitting or assembly work.

Responsibilities for Mechanical Design Engineer

As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will produce detailed designs and support the development of bespoke automation machinery from concept through to manufacture. You will work closely with electrical, controls and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, robust and suitable for build.
