JOB- Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION- Great Yarmouth

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £30,000 to £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Premier Engineering is working with a growing engineering business based in Great Yarmouth who are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding design team. The role offers the opportunity to be involved in the full product development lifecycle, focusing on the design of bespoke mechanical systems and components.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar
• Knowledge of mechanical component design, tolerancing, and assembly
• Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes including sheet metal, machining, and fabrication
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

• Producing detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacture
• Working on both new product development and modifications to existing designs
• Creating and maintaining BOMs and technical documentation
• Liaising with production, suppliers, and other engineering teams
• Ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and cost requirements
• Participating in design reviews and project meetings
